CYCLOCROSS IS HERE! I raced in 3 races yesterday… Warmed up in single speed, then won cat 4 and got my upgrade to 3 and did that race too, I finished 9th. Today I skipped SS cause I was pooped from yesterday and just did the cat 3 race. Going hard like that for an hour is tough, but super rewarding. I finished 5th of 15 and had a blast!!! Can’t wait to stand on the podium one of these weekends soon! @maeelizabethg caught my ultimate pain face during the run up today. I am so pumped it’s cross season!!!
2014 has been an incredible year of bike racing so far… It was my first season of racing road after getting hooked on cyclocross in the fall of 2013. I started the season with a few goals… A: Train with a purpose and direction. B: Move up from cat 5 to cat 3. C: Not eat shit too much and prepare for the 2014 cyclocross season. Welp, I have accomplished all those goals and more! I have raced 24 times this season and I’ve stood on the podium my fair share, finished off the back and in the middle of the field but it’s all been worth it. The @SRSChampions series was a focus of the season and I’ve held the leaders jersey, lost the leaders jersey and regained it back. I finished out the series with the GC lead in cat 4… Something I wasn’t planning for or aiming for until it started to look like something I could pull off. I had a great time racing with Nate (KOM) and Jed (Sprinter) and all the other competitors in the series. I’m excited to race the series in cat 3 next season and hopefully go for a jersey there too! I’ve got a two week break from racing and then cyclocross starts up #crossiscoming … I’ll end the 2014 season with 36 races under belt… overkill? I think not! Huge thanks to @mstone21 for the coaching and helping me see results! The biggest thanks of all goes to @maeelizabethg for the support all season and always standing by my side, I LOVE YOU!
